Scotland vs England 2021 was played at Gleddoch Golf and spa resort. After a quick change due to accommodation issues, Gleddoch happily stepped in to help us out. Myself as Scotland Captain, was looking forward to welcoming team England to Scotland and Gleddoch. I welcomed the lads to a rainy Scotland, and we got prepared to do battle on the course, it was kindly noted to myself numerous times, that Scotland had not won in 12 years. So as my first term as captain I was up against it. The first match tee’d off at 08:00 with myself, Pete Murphy(Tayside) with Alistair Johnston and Lee Digweed. We headed off into a coldish and windy morning, as always the game was played with in good spirits. After the pairs the score was close, with England just pipping us 5.5 to 4.5. The sponsors and speakers arrived for their game before the afternoon singles headed out,I would personally like to thank BAFSA for stepping in at the final hour to sponsor our annual tournament. The singles headed out and England captain Alistair, fairly put myself to the sword. He paved the way for team England to triumph. As the players came in weather beaten and tired, the score kept going in one direction. So with a big congratulations to Team England they battered Scotland 11-19. They thoroughly deserved the victory. The evening meal went down well, with presentation of the trophy to Alistair and his Team England. Also a big thank you goes to our speakers ACO Paul Stewart (SFRS) and the local Pro Tom Eckford for giving great speeches, I personally think they went down well. So again, WELL DONE TEAM ENGLAND and I look forward to stop the rot in 2022
