The prestigious Sheriff’s Cup, the Fire Service Golf National Team Championships, was once again contested in 2025 at the beautiful Coxmoor Golf Club in Nottinghamshire. Inaugurated in 1961, the competition was established following the presentation of the cup to Surrey Fire and Rescue Service by the late A.E. Kirk Esq., Sheriff of the City of London (1960–62), for inter-Fire and Rescue Service competition.
This year’s championship drew a record field of 188 players from across the UK Fire and Rescue Services, battling over three competitive days of golf for national honours.

The event was not only a celebration of sporting excellence but also of camaraderie and community support. Competitors collectively raised over £1,000 for The Fire Fighters Charity, as well as over £1,100 in support of the families of the Oxfordshire firefighters who tragically lost their lives.
The 2025 Sheriff’s Cup once again exemplified the spirit, skill, and solidarity of the UK Fire and Rescue Services – both on and off the course.
